The short version
Cookies are tiny text files a site stores in your browser. crazein uses only what it needs: a handful to keep the site working and secure, and — with your say-so — a few more to understand which decodes land and to remember how you like things. Nothing is shared for others to profile you, and you can accept, reject, or fine-tune any of it in one click.
What we store, and why
| Category | Purpose | Kept for |
|---|---|---|
| Strictly necessaryAlways on | These keep crazein secure and running: they remember your login, keep your session safe, and store this very cookie choice so we don't ask again on every page.e.g. Sign-in session, security, your consent choice | Session to 180 days |
| Analytics | Aggregated, privacy-friendly numbers — which stories land, how the site performs, where things break. It's how we decide what to cover next. Never sold, never tied to your name.e.g. Page views, load speed, popular crazes | Cookieless (aggregated) — no analytics cookies set today |
| Preferences | Small comforts: remembering that you've seen a prompt, your region, and how you like things set — so you're not starting from scratch each visit.e.g. Region, dismissed prompts, saved settings | Up to 12 months |
| Marketing | Lets us measure which channels bring in readers who love this stuff, so we spend our effort reaching more of them. crazein runs no third-party ad trackers today — this simply future-proofs that promise under your control.e.g. Campaign attribution, audience reach | Not currently set — reserved for future use |
How your choice is honoured
crazein uses Google Consent Mode v2. Before you decide, every optional signal — analytics and advertising storage — defaults to denied, and only strictly-necessary security storage is allowed. The moment you choose, we update those signals to match, and we reassert your choice on every visit. Your decision itself is stored in a first-party cookie so we never have to ask twice, and a private, timestamped record is kept purely as proof of consent — it holds no advertising identifiers and never your IP address.
Change or withdraw your consent
Anytime — it's as easy to say no as it was to say yes. Open the preferences panel below, or use the Cookie settings link in the footer of every page. You can also clear cookies from your browser settings, though that will reset your preferences here.
